Gazdhar Marbles

We sell marbles out of the Nahar & Seth Industrial Estate on M Azad Road. It’s right off LBS Marg, not far from the Fun Republic Cinema. The place is always covered in a bit of white dust because of all the stone cutting and moving. We have different slabs leaning against the walls in the yard. It’s heavy work, moving these things around manually or with the small crane. We’ve been in this industrial estate for quite some time now. People come in looking for stuff for their new kitchens or bathroom floors. We show them whatever we have in the yard at the moment. It’s not a fancy showroom with bright lights and music. It’s more of a warehouse feel. We talk to contractors and homeowners all day. Sometimes the trucks arrive late because of the traffic and we have to stay back late to unload everything. LBS Marg is always jammed, so getting things delivered can be a real headache for us and the customers. We just try to be straightforward about what we have in stock. If a stone has a natural crack or a mark, we tell the person. No point in hiding it just to make a sale. It’s a rough business, but we like the work. The noise from the nearby industrial units is constant, so you get used to shouting a bit to be heard over the machines. It’s just how we run things here every day.
