Freelance

Freelance operates out of Nedumariyil House in Nellad, which is near Muvattupuzha in the Ernakulam district. It’s a very local, quiet spot in Kerala, far away from the big city noise. The office is actually just a part of the family house that’s been converted for work. You’ll see plenty of greenery around, and the air is much better than what you’d find in Kochi. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you might see someone’s uncle or aunt walking by while we’re working. We don't have any fancy office equipment, just the basics like a few laptops and a printer that sometimes jams. It’s a very informal way of working. We usually start our day early before it gets too hot. Most of our work comes from people in the surrounding villages or through contacts we’ve made over the years. We don't have a website or any big advertisements. People just know where to find us. If the rain is heavy, we sometimes have to stop work because the noise on the roof is so loud we can't hear each other talk. But that’s just life in this part of Kerala. We aren't trying to grow into some huge corporation. We’re happy just doing our work here in the village and helping out where we can. It’s a slow pace of life, but we get things done eventually.
