We work out of Cuffe Castle which is down in the Cuffe Parade area of Colaba. It is right in the heart of Mumbai. This office is at M 2 and it’s a pretty old building but it has character and a lot of history. The sea is close by so you can sometimes feel the breeze if the windows are open, which is nice in the heat. Most of our time is spent dealing with the logistics of food distribution and making sure the records are right for the government. There is a lot of paperwork because everything has to be tracked very carefully. It’s a big setup so things move at a certain pace and you have to be patient. We have big filing cabinets and desks that have been here for years. The tea man comes around twice a day and that’s when everyone takes a little break to talk. It’s a lot of data entry and checking numbers against what is in the warehouses. Colaba is always crowded with tourists and traffic but inside the office it is usually just the sound of fans and typing. We don't really have a public face here, it’s mostly just administrative stuff happening behind the desks. We show up in the morning and stay until the work is done. It’s a steady job in a very busy part of the city. We've all been working here for a long time.
