We are based out of Room Number 5 in the Km Chougle Chawl. It’s right near the Central Railway Colony in Dharavi, Mumbai 400 017. If you’ve ever been to this part of Mumbai, you know it’s always busy and there’s always something happening right outside the door. Flsmidth Pvt Ltd isn't some big glass building. It’s a small space in a very crowded neighborhood where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We hear the trains going by all the time, but after a while, you just stop noticing the sound. It’s a practical place to work. We spend our days managing whatever comes our way, mostly just keeping the records straight and making sure the operations don't stop. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we have a lot of stuff to move, but that’s just life in the chawl. We aren't big on fancy speeches or complicated ways of doing things. We just get the work done. The guys here are local, and we usually grab lunch from the stalls nearby. It’s a lot of hard work and sometimes the heat gets to be a bit much, but we keep the fans going and stay on top of the schedule. Dealing with the space constraints is just part of the daily routine. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles, just a desk, some chairs, and the work that needs doing.
