Flsmidth Design

We are tucked away in Borivali West, on the second floor of the Eksar Kavita housing society. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs to room 9, but we’re used to it. Being in Mumbai, space is always tight. We do design work here at Flsmidth Design. It’s mostly just us sitting at computers with a lot of wires running around the floor. The street outside, Eksar Road, is always noisy with rickshaws and people heading to the station. We like the energy though. Sometimes we get lunch from the small stalls downstairs. It’s easier than bringing a dabba every day. Our office isn't fancy. We have some old cupboards full of files and some posters on the wall that have been there for years. We don’t really have a big meeting room, so we just huddle around one desk when we need to talk. It’s a humble place but we get a lot done. People think design is all about big fancy studios, but we do just fine in this little flat. The rain in Mumbai can be a problem sometimes, making the walls a bit damp, but we just keep working. We know our neighbors and they know us. It feels like a small community even though we’re in a huge city. We just keep our heads down and finish the projects on time without much fuss or noise.
