Eskay Elevators I Ltd is tucked away in Borivali West. We have our main spot at Eskay House, which is right by the Eskay Resorts off Link Road. It’s a pretty well-known area in Mumbai, and being near the resort means it’s a bit different from the usual cramped office spaces you find in the city. We spend our time thinking about lifts and how to keep them moving. It is a technical job and there is always something to fix or a new project to look at. The Link Road stays jammed with traffic most of the time, so we hear the horns all day. We’ve got a team that stays busy with the mechanical side of things. It’s not a glamorous job, getting into elevator shafts and dealing with cables, but it is what we do. Our building is easy to spot once you get off the main road. Inside, it’s mostly just people on phones or looking at blueprints. We have been in Borivali for quite some time now. The humidity in Mumbai can be tough on the equipment, so that keeps us on our toes. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just come in, do the work, and make sure things are working right. It’s a lot of grease, metal, and hard work every day of the week. Most of us have been doing this for years and we know the machines inside out.
