Located at 1/3 Pratap Nivas on Gavdevi Road, our office is right in the Tembipad area of Bhandup West. If you know the neighborhood, we are quite close to Anthony Church. It’s a busy part of Mumbai, so there’s always noise from the street coming through the windows. Inside, we spend our time working on business information for various companies. There are about a dozen of us here most days, crowded around desks that are probably a bit too small for all the folders we have. We spend a lot of time on the phone and checking data on our computers. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, even with the fans going full blast. We’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the place, from the sounds of the local traffic to the way the light hits the building in the evening. Most of us live nearby or take the train into Bhandup, so we know the local shops and where to get a decent tea during our break. It’s a straightforward kind of job where we just try to keep the records straight and help businesses understand who they are dealing with. We don’t have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. It’s just a regular room in an older building where we get our work done. Sometimes the internet is a bit patchy, but we manage to stay on top of things. It’s a decent place to work with people who have been here for years. We just keep at it.
