Dotiya Dental Clinic

Dotiya Dental Clinic is situated on the 4th floor of the Alankar Cinema Building on S V P Road. Charni Road is one of those places that never really stops, so there’s a lot of energy around here. Being in an old cinema building is interesting; you can still feel the history of the place, even if it’s a bit run-down now. The lift is one of those old-fashioned ones with the metal gates, and it moves pretty slowly up to the fourth floor. Once you’re inside the clinic, the noise from the traffic on S V P Road is a bit muffled, but you can still hear the local trains occasionally. The view from the window is mostly just other old buildings and some tangled power lines. We have a few dental chairs and a small area for people to wait. The tiles on the floor are a bit cracked in places, and the ceiling has some water marks from a leak we had last monsoon. It’s not a polished, modern office, but it works for what we need to do. Most people come to us because they’ve been in the neighborhood for years. There’s a sea breeze that comes through if we leave the windows open, though it usually brings in some dust too. It’s just a typical old South Mumbai dental clinic. We’ve got a clock on the wall that ticks quite loudly when the room is empty.
