Doorstep Livelihood

We operate out of Room No 708 in the Surya Complex, which is in Kanjurmarg East. It’s a small space, but it’s enough for what we do. Our focus is on doorstep livelihood, which basically means we spend our time thinking about how people can make a better living. We don’t have a big fancy office with glass walls. It’s just a room where we keep our files and meet up to discuss the day's plans. Kanjurmarg is a busy area, and being in the A 5 block of this complex puts us right in the middle of things. We see a lot of people every day. Some are looking for advice, others just want to know what opportunities are out there. We try to be helpful without making things too complicated. It’s simple work, really, but it matters to the folks who live around here. Sometimes the elevator in Surya Complex is slow, so we end up taking the stairs. It keeps us moving. We’ve got a few desks and a lot of passion for helping the local community. It isn't about getting rich; it’s about making sure people have the tools they need to support themselves. We keep our overhead low and our doors open as much as we can. It’s a bit messy sometimes with all the paperwork, but that’s just how it goes when you’re busy. We’re just regular people trying to do something good right here in our own neighborhood.
