Being tucked away in the M.N.Dsouza Compound on Kherani Road means we’re right in the middle of a very busy part of Mumbai. It’s a bit of a maze back here, and finding B/1 can take a minute if you aren't familiar with the area. We handle a lot of the administrative and coordination stuff for the cooperative from this office. The name is quite long, which sometimes makes filling out forms a bit of a chore, but everyone just knows us as the Panchanganga office around here. It’s a small space, usually crowded with files and ledgers because there’s a lot of paperwork involved in what we do. The staff has been here for years, and we all know each other’s families and stories. It’s more like a small community than just a workplace. Outside, the road is always packed with tempos and people moving goods. It can get pretty humid, and the noise of the traffic never really stops. We spend our days talking to members, sorting out the accounts, and making sure the logistics side of things is moving along. It’s not a flashy office with glass walls or anything like that. Just some old desks, a few computers, and a lot of people working hard. We usually grab lunch together or get something from the local vendors nearby. It’s a bit messy and loud, but it’s how we’ve always operated. It is just a normal day for us.
