Dawnay Day Analytics

Working at Dawnay Day Analytics in Mumbai means dealing with a lot of numbers every single day. Our office is in the 400090 area, which gets pretty crowded during the rush hour. We spend most of our time staring at screens and trying to make sense of data. It isn't as exciting as it looks in movies. It’s a lot of spreadsheets and checking for mistakes. The office is tucked away in a building that has seen better days, but the air conditioning works and that is what matters in Maharashtra heat. We usually order lunch from the small place downstairs because their food is cheap and good. There are cables running along the floor and we have to be careful not to trip. We don't have a big fancy lobby with a receptionist. You just walk in and see us working. It is a quiet place mostly, except for the clicking of keyboards and the hum of the server fan in the corner. We don't really do the whole corporate culture thing with team building retreats. We just come in, do the analysis, and go home to our families. Sometimes we stay late when a project is due, and the view of the city lights is okay I guess. We are just a group of people who are good with computers and logic, trying to make a living in a very busy city like Mumbai. We don't need much more than a desk and a working internet connection.
