We have been operating D S Mittle & Sons out of 15-A Tardeo Everest for a long time now. The building is at number 156 and it is a familiar spot for those of us who work in the Tardeo area. It is not a very modern office, to be honest. We have the same old wooden desks we started with and the filing cabinets are getting a bit rusty in the corners. My father used to sit in the big chair by the window and now I do the same. We handle a lot of different things throughout the day. People come in and out, some stay for a chat and some are in a hurry. The lift in the Everest building can be a bit temperamental, so we often end up taking the stairs. It keeps us fit, I suppose. There is always a stack of papers on the desk that never seems to get smaller. Fancy marketing people or a big staff aren't things we have. It is just a few of us making sure everything gets done properly. The area has changed quite a bit over the years with new shops opening up, but we are still here doing what we do. It’s a bit noisy with the traffic outside, but you get used to it after a while. We just try to be helpful to anyone who walks through the door at 15-A. Sometimes we run out of stationary and have to scramble to the shop nearby.
