About Chordia International – Building & Construction Material in Mumbai
We’ve been at the Panchratna building for a good while now, specifically up on the tenth floor in room 1007-A. If you know the Opera House area, you know how hectic it gets around here. It’s the heart of the diamond trade, though we just focus on our own daily tasks and try to keep things moving. The office isn’t huge, but it fits us just fine. Most days start with the usual struggle of getting through the crowds outside the station and then waiting for the lift, which can be a bit slow in the mornings. We’re a small team at Chordia International, and we mostly just handle the paperwork and logistics that come with being in this trade. It’s a lot of phone calls and sitting at desks, surrounded by the constant hum of the city outside. Sometimes the traffic noise from the street below filters up even this high, but you get used to it after a week or two. We don’t go in for anything fancy here. There are files piled up and the tea guy comes around twice a day, which is probably the highlight of the afternoon. We just try to get the orders right and make sure everything is where it needs to be. It’s practical work, really. Nothing like what you see in movies about this part of town. Just a regular office doing its bit in a very busy building. It gets the job done and keeps us out of the rain, so no one really complains much.
