Chiman Grani Marmo

We spend a lot of time here at the showroom near Vakola Bridge. It’s right on Nehru Road in Santacruz East, so there is always noise from the traffic outside. Chiman Grani Marmo has been in this spot for a while now. Most days involve moving heavy slabs of marble and granite around. It gets dusty, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. People stop by looking for something for their floors or kitchens, and we just show them what we have in stock. The yard at Gate No-1 is where most of the heavy lifting happens. We try to keep things organized, but when new shipments come in, it gets a bit crowded. Sometimes the sun is really hot on the road, but we stay busy inside. It’s just us doing the work, checking the pieces for cracks or bad spots. We don't have fancy sales pitches. We just point out the colors and the sizes. Being here in Santacruz means we see all sorts of people walking by. Some are just curious, others know exactly what they need for their house. We handle the stone every day, so we know which pieces are heavy and which ones need extra care. It is a lot of physical work, honestly. We just open up the gates in the morning and stay until things are done for the day. It is a simple enough way to make a living.
