Cheftoon

We are located in the New Timber Yard Layout in Kanjurmarg East. If you know the area, you know it’s mostly industrial and warehouses. Cheftoon is right in the middle of it. We started out here because there weren't many places for the workers to get a decent meal. The kitchen is our main focus. It’s not a place where you come for the decor. We have plain walls and some sturdy chairs. Most of our work is making sure the spices are right. We go through a lot of containers every week. The morning routine is always the same, checking the gas and making sure the fridge is working. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to manage with what we have. It’s a bit of a grind but we like it. The guys from the timber yards come in with sawdust on their clothes and we give them something hot to eat. We don't do anything fancy, just standard meals that fill you up. The New Timber Yard Layout can be a bit dusty, so we are always wiping things down. It’s a quiet spot in the evenings once the trucks stop moving. We stay open until the last order is done. It’s just a normal business run by normal people who know how to cook. We don't have a website or anything like that, just the shop here in Kanjurmarg.
