Chandan Clinic

Our clinic is located in Shop number 9 at Oxford Chamber, right on Saki Vihar Road. If you know Sakinaka, you know how hectic the traffic and the crowds can get around here at all hours. We are right in the middle of all that noise and buzz. It is a small shop space that we converted into a clinic years ago. It is not very big, but we managed to fit in a consultation desk and a small bench for people to sit while they wait. Most of our patients are workers from the nearby industrial estates or families living in the local chawls and apartments. We see a lot of people coming in after their shifts end, so the evenings are always our busiest time. It gets a bit cramped when there are more than four or five people waiting, but everyone understands how it is in Mumbai. We do not have a receptionist; usually, the doctor or an assistant just calls the next person in when they are ready. We handle basic stuff like fevers, minor injuries, or just writing out a prescription for something routine. The fans run all day to keep the heat away. It is a very simple setup. We have been part of this street for a long time, and we just keep doing what we do. It is practical, it is local, and it serves the people who are right here.
