You can find Blue Star Food Product Company over at Two Tanks on Budhavihar Marg. We’ve been in this spot, 55/57, for as long as most people can remember. It’s a food business, so it’s always got some kind of smell going on—usually something cooking or being packed. We don't have a big shiny factory; it’s more of a traditional setup in an old part of the city. The building has some character, and maybe a bit of wear and tear, but it works for us. We handle various food products, mostly stuff that people use in their kitchens every day. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and packing boxes. The street outside is narrow and always crowded with handcarts and delivery vans. We don't really do advertising. People around Two Tanks know us, and word spreads from there. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend the morning fixing them instead of producing. That’s just part of the deal. We have a small crew of workers who have been with us for years. They know the routine better than anyone. It’s a bit cramped inside with all the bags and crates, but we manage to get everything out on time. We aren't trying to be a global brand; we just want to make decent products for the local market. It’s a noisy, busy, and sometimes messy life, but we like it. We hope to stay here for many more years.
