BLACKSTONE ENGINEERING CONTRACTS LLP

We’re over in the Remi Biz Court building on Veera Desai Road. It’s a busy spot in Mumbai with lots of other offices around us. Our space is in Block 504 of Wing A. We handle engineering contracts, which basically means we spend a lot of time looking at blueprints and talking to site supervisors. It’s not a very flashy office. We have desks piled with papers and some drawing boards. Most of our staff are out at the project sites in the Shah Industrial Estate or elsewhere in the city, so the office can feel a bit empty during the middle of the day. We aren't trying to be some giant multinational firm. We’re just a group of engineers and contractors who know how to get a building project finished. We deal with the plumbing, the wiring, and the structural stuff that people don't usually see but really need. The traffic on Veera Desai Road is a nightmare sometimes, so we do a lot of our coordinating over the phone. We don't have a big mission statement or anything. We just take the contracts as they come and try to make sure the work is solid and follows the safety rules. It’s a lot of coordination and sometimes a lot of stress, but we’ve been doing this long enough to handle it. We just focus on the project at hand until it is done.
