Bhikaji Enterprises

You can find Bhikaji Enterprises on Baniyan Street in Paydhoni. It’s one of those narrow streets where you really have to watch where you're walking because there’s always someone moving a handcart or carrying a heavy bundle on their head. Our shop is tucked in between a few others. Inside, it's packed from floor to ceiling with stock. We don't have much room for a fancy showroom, so everything is just stacked neatly in boxes. The lights are a bit dim, but we know where everything is kept. Paydhoni is a busy place, and there’s always a lot of shouting and noise from the morning till late evening. We usually start the day by sweeping the front step and checking what came in overnight. There is a small wooden counter where we do all the business. We keep a ledger for everything, even though people say we should use a computer more. The fan wobbles a bit, but it keeps the air moving. Dealing with people all day is the main part of what we do here. Sometimes a customer stays for a chat and a glass of water. It is a bit of a squeeze when more than two people are inside, but we make it work. It's been our spot for a long time and we like being part of the madness on Baniyan Street. The tea stall nearby delivers right to our door.
