Our place is Gala Number 10 in the Sakina Industrial Estate. We are in Block Number 5 on Ambe Mata Road. It’s out in Bhayandar West, part of the Thane district. The area is full of workshops and small factories, so there’s always a bit of a hum in the air. We work with eyewear, mostly frames and different types of glasses. It’s a lot of sitting and focusing on small details. My eyes get tired by the end of the shift sometimes. We have shelves filled with different styles. Some are old, some are newer, but we don't follow the trends too closely. It’s a practical business. We aren't some big high-end boutique with carpets and fancy lights. It’s an industrial unit. We get the work done and send the orders out to shops. The road outside can get muddy when it rains, making it hard for the delivery vans. We’ve been in this gala for a while now. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn't too bad. We know the security guards and the guys in the neighboring units. It’s just a regular workplace. We don't have a big corporate philosophy. We just try to make sure the frames are sturdy and the lenses are right. That’s enough for us to worry about most days. We keep things simple and just keep the production moving along.
