Bhavani Granite

Operating Bhavani Granite out of Charmi Enclave is a bit of a challenge sometimes because of the traffic on the Western Express Highway Service Road. If you know Vile Parle East, you know how busy it gets around here. We are right there where the cars are constantly moving, and the noise never really stops. We’ve got our granite slabs tucked into the space, and we spend our days moving them around to show people what’s available. It’s hard work, especially when the humidity in Mumbai kicks in. My shirt is usually soaked by noon. We don’t have a fancy showroom with lights and mirrors. It is just a practical space where we store the stone and do our business. People stop by because they saw us from the road or they live nearby in the enclave. We know the local tea stall guy pretty well, and he keeps us caffeinated. Sometimes we have to juggle the trucks carefully so we don’t block the service road too much. It’s a bit of a puzzle every time a new shipment arrives. We just take things as they come and try to be helpful to anyone who walks in the gate. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and measuring, but we’ve been doing it long enough that it feels like second nature now. We don't use big words or fancy brochures, just the stone.
