We have been here in Malad East for quite a while now. Most people know the spot near the first building where we set up B J S Foods. It isn't a fancy place, just a regular shop where we handle food stuff every day. Some mornings get really crowded and we have to move fast to keep up with everyone. My father started this and now I spend most of my time behind the counter or checking the stock in the back room. Malad is always busy, so there is never really a quiet moment. We see the same faces every week, mostly neighbors and people heading home from the station. The walls could use a bit of paint but we haven't found the time yet because there is always something to pack or a delivery arriving late. Sometimes the rain makes it hard for people to come in, but we stay open regardless. We just try to get the orders right and make sure everything is fresh. It’s a lot of work, honestly. My nephew helps out after his classes, though he spends too much time on his phone when he thinks I am not looking. We don’t have any big slogans or anything like that. It is just a food business in a busy part of the city. We open early and close when the street gets quiet, which isn't until late. That's just how it goes here. Most of our days are spent just making sure the shelves are full.
