Ayesha Clinic

You’ll find Ayesha Clinic tucked away in Shop No 3 inside the Umar Shah Baba Compound. It’s on M S Ali Road in the Nagpada area, quite close to Mumbai Central. If you’re familiar with the Do Taki landmark, we are just a short walk from there. This part of Mumbai is always packed with people and traffic, and there's always a lot of shouting and horns honking outside. Our shop is a bit small, but we’ve made it work. I’ve been in this compound for years, and I know almost every shopkeeper around here. We get all sorts of people coming in from the neighborhood. Some just want to show a report, others have a fever. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so we keep the door open to get a bit of a breeze, even if it brings in the street noise. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint soon, but for now, it’s fine. I usually have tea from the stall next door while I wait for the next person to come in. Life in Nagpada is fast, but inside the clinic, we try to slow down a bit and just focus on the person sitting in the chair. It’s a humble spot, nothing like those big hospitals you see in the city. We just do our work and go home when the sun goes down. I like seeing the same families coming in year after year, it makes me feel like part of the street.
