We’ve been over at Royal Sands behind City Mall in Andheri West for a while now. Most people know the area for the mall, but we’re tucked away in B Wing, Suite 301/A. Here at Innout Marble Pvt. Ltd., handling stone is just what we do every day. It’s heavy work, and the yard gets dusty, but that’s the nature of it. When a slab comes in, we look it over, check for cracks, and figure out where it’s going next. It isn't always pretty or glamorous. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other days we are just moving crates around. My cousin helped me set up the office space here because he knew the landlord. Being in Andheri West makes it easy for guys to drop by after they finish up at other sites. We keep things pretty simple. There’s no big fancy showroom with bright lights, just the stone and the tools we use. Sometimes we have to wait on shipments that get stuck in traffic near the mall, which is a headache. But usually, we just get on with the job. If you walk past the mall and head towards the back, you’ll find us. We don’t spend much time on the computer, mostly we are dealing with the actual slabs and the people who need them. It’s a lot of lifting and measuring. The guys here have been doing this for years so they know how the stone behaves under a saw. It is hard on the back, but seeing the finished pieces makes it worth the effort.
