Amar Talerja

I’ve been working out of 10 Khar West for a long time now. The place is in Sumin Park, specifically inside Shyam Niketan. It’s a quiet enough area for the most part, though you still get the usual Mumbai sounds coming through the windows. Amar Talerja is just the name on the door, and I handle things mostly by myself or with a bit of help when things get busy. It is a small space where I keep my books and my computer. I don’t have a big staff or a fleet of cars. Most people who come by are regulars from around Khar who know where to find me. The building is older, with that solid feel you don't get with the new glass towers. I spend a lot of my day on the phone or answering messages. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what I know. Sometimes the elevator in the building acts up, so I end up taking the stairs, which is good for the legs I suppose. I keep a pot of tea going most of the afternoon. People stop in to talk business or just to catch up on what is happening in the neighborhood. I don’t believe in making things more complicated than they need to be. I just sit at my desk in Shyam Niketan and do the work that comes my way. It is a steady way to spend the day.
