Our small office at 2/9 H in Malad East is situated very close to the Western Express Highway. You can hear the constant roar of the traffic from dawn until late at night, which just becomes a kind of white noise after a while. The room we work in is quite basic, with just enough space for a couple of desks and a cabinet where we keep all the property documents and site maps. Since we are promoters, we spend a good chunk of our time looking at blueprints or walking around dusty patches of land, so our shoes are rarely clean. There is always a layer of fine dust on the window sills because of the highway being so near. It is not the kind of place where you’ll find fancy art or expensive carpets. We have a simple water cooler in the corner and a calendar on the wall that we use to mark down our meetings. People from the neighborhood often stop by to ask about local developments or just to say hello. We spend a lot of time on the phone, trying to coordinate between different people and making sure the paperwork is moving along the way it should. It is a straightforward way of working without any unnecessary fluff. We just focus on the plots and the projects we have in front of us, taking things one day at a time in this busy part of Malad.
