Rayagudem Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our spot is at 2-20 in the village of Raigudem, which is part of the Ghanpur area. We are a collection of farmers from the Dharmasagar Mandal who decided to pool our resources. Most of us have worked our own little pieces of land for years. The building we use is just a basic concrete structure at 2-20. It serves as a place to keep our tools and have our meetings. We don't have any polished office furniture or air conditioning. It’s just a place to get out of the sun and talk about the crops. We grow whatever the season allows, mostly things like rice or maize depending on the water situation. We don’t have any marketing brochures. We just talk to the local buyers and try to get a fair deal. The work is hard and it leaves you tired, but doing it together makes it a bit better. We share the costs of the seeds and the fertilizers. Sometimes we have long debates about what to plant next, but we eventually agree. We are just local people trying to keep our farming traditions going while making enough to get by. Raigudem is a small place and we are just a small part of it. We don't want to be anything more than what we are. We just work the fields every day.
