Jeewan Public School

Jeewan Public School is located in the Chandmari area of Motihari, over in East Champaran. It’s a busy little neighborhood and we are right in the middle of it. The street can get quite crowded with rickshaws and people going to the market nearby to buy their daily groceries. Our school building has been standing here for years and it’s a familiar sight for everyone who lives in Chandmari. We have a modest entrance and a courtyard where things happen during the day, like assembly or just kids hanging out. It’s not a quiet place by any means because there is always the sound of kids talking or teachers giving lessons in the rooms. We don’t have much in the way of big shiny equipment but we have the basics that a school needs to function properly. The walls are painted a simple color and we try to keep the posters from peeling off when the humidity gets high. East Champaran can get very hot in the summer so we make sure the fans are always working. Most of our staff are locals who have grown up in this town or nearby villages. We are just a solid part of the community here. People know us by name and we know the families who send their children here. It’s just a normal school life for us. We do the work, keep the place running as best we can, and watch the seasons change.
