Universal Brass House

We have our shop, Universal Brass House, in Malviya Nagar. It’s tucked right behind the Kashi Bus Stands, so there is always a lot of activity nearby. You can hear the buses idling and people calling out for their platforms all day long. Our place is mostly filled with brass items and the smell of metal. It’s not the cleanest job in the world. Our hands are usually stained by the end of the shift, but that’s just how it goes. The workshop isn't very large, so we have to be careful about where we put things so we don't trip. We don't have a big team of people. It’s just a few of us who know how to handle the brass. Some days are very long when we have a big order to finish. We don't have a fancy website or a bunch of salespeople. Most of our customers are people who have been coming to us for years or folks who found us while waiting for a bus. Malviya Nagar is a good spot because it’s easy for people to find once you tell them about the bus stand. We just keep our heads down and do the work. The fans in the ceiling hum all day to keep the air moving. It’s a simple, honest place to spend a day working. We like the sound of the metal when we are moving it around. It makes us feel like we’ve actually done something useful.
