Shiv Ganga Water Plant

We have been here at Shiv Ganga Water Plant for some time now. It is located in Sector 25, right near the Salar Ganj Bazar area. Most days start pretty early because that is when the trucks need to get loaded before the traffic gets bad around Chandni Bagh. The building isn't anything fancy, just a practical space where we run the filtration and fill the bottles. Sometimes the dust from the Milk Ugra Kheri road gets to be a bit much, but we keep the inside clean as best as we can. It’s a lot of manual work, moving crates and checking seals. We see a lot of people passing by on their way to the market. Some stop in to ask about prices or just to see how the machines are running. It gets quite hot in the summer months, so we end up drinking quite a bit of the water ourselves while we work. The machinery makes a steady humming noise all day long. We don't have a big office or anything like that. Just a desk and some chairs where we handle the paperwork and talk to the drivers. It’s a straightforward business. We just focus on getting the water processed and out the door to the shops and homes nearby. Most of us live close by, so the commute isn't too bad, though the rainy season makes the roads around here a bit of a mess. That's just how it is.
