Sania Bricks

Sania Bricks is out in Village Abudullapur Leda, which is a bit of a trek if you aren't from around here. We are based in the Thakurdwara area and have been working this land for quite some time. The business is pretty straightforward; we make bricks and we sell them to people building things nearby. There isn't much to the office, just a small place to sit and some ledgers to keep track of the loads going out. Most of our life is spent outside in the yard or near the kilns. In Abudullapur Leda, the weather dictates everything we do. If it rains too much, the mud doesn't set right, and we have to wait it out. It can be frustrating, but that is part of the brick business. We see a lot of trucks coming and going through the village, and we know most of the drivers pretty well. It’s a dusty job, and by the end of the day, everyone is covered in that reddish-brown earth. We don't use any big words to describe what we do. We just make sure the bricks are solid and that they get delivered where they need to go. Working in a small village like this means everyone knows everyone, so we have to be careful with our work. It is a slow, steady process that takes a lot of sweat and patience, but we’ve been doing it this way for years.
