Khwaja Brick Works

Our place, Khwaja Brick Works, is situated in Mahmoodpur. We are right on the Main Road, and a very easy landmark to look for is the Esha Girl Eye Hospital, which is just a short walk away from our gate. Being on the main road means there’s always a lot of activity and noise from the passing traffic, which keeps things interesting throughout the day. The yard is usually full of brick stacks and there’s always someone moving something around with a trolley or by hand. We’ve been here for several years now and have watched how Mahmoodpur has grown and changed. We don't have any professional marketing or a big team of sales people. It’s just a few of us handling the orders and making sure the bricks get loaded onto the trucks correctly. When it rains, the yard can get quite messy and slippery, so we have to move quickly to cover things up. Our office is just a small room with a fan and a couple of old chairs where we do the paperwork and drink our tea. It’s a straightforward business where we focus on the work rather than how things look to outsiders. Most of our customers are locals who know us by name and just drop in.
