Samsuddin Hair Saloon

Samsuddin Hair Saloon is right near the Tehsil Gate in Thakurdwara, Moradabad. Being on Mahender Hospital Road means there are always people passing by, either going to the hospital or heading to the government offices. The shop stays quite busy because of that. I usually see a lot of different faces every day, not just the locals. Some people are just waiting for their turn at the gate and want a quick trim. The shop is small and the paint is peeling a little bit near the ceiling. I have my favorite pair of scissors that I have used for a decade. The chairs are tucked in tight because there isn't much floor space. I keep a stack of old newspapers for people to read while they wait. The noise from the hospital road is constant, with horns honking and people shouting. It is a bit of a dusty spot, so I am always cleaning the counters. I don't have any fancy lights, just a couple of tubes that flicker sometimes. Moradabad is a busy town and this little corner of it feels like home to me. I start early and sometimes I don't get a chance to sit down until lunch. Most people just want a simple cut and maybe a bit of a head massage. I do my work and try to keep things moving so nobody has to wait too long.
