Metro Ceramics Navi Mumbai is actually found on Shahidabad Sambhal Road in Moradabad. It is a bit confusing for some people because of the name, but we have been here in Moradabad for quite some time. The shop is filled with rows of tiles and ceramic pieces that take up almost every inch of floor space. We have to walk carefully so we don't trip over the edges of the boxes. The road outside gets very muddy when it rains, so we spend a lot of time mopping the floors to keep the tiles looking decent. It is mostly just a couple of us working here, lifting heavy crates and helping people pick out what they need for their floors or walls. We don't use any big sales pitches. Most of our neighbors just drop in because they know we are here. The light in the warehouse isn't the best, so we often take samples out to the front door to see the real color in the sunlight. It is a lot of physical labor, especially when a new shipment arrives and everything has to be hand-carried inside. We lose a few pieces to cracks every now and then, which is just part of the job. The days are long and the work is repetitive, but it is what we know. We just try to keep the shop organized and help out anyone who walks in off the Sambhal Road.
