Saini Engineering Works

If you’re driving down Barwala Road towards Dera Bassi, you’ll find us in Saidpura village. We’re right near Mittal Kanda, which is the big weighbridge everyone uses. Saini Engineering Works has been sitting on this patch of land for quite a while now. It’s a bit out of the main town, so it’s quieter, except for the sound of our own machines. We do mostly mechanical repairs and some fabrication. Farmers from around the village bring in their equipment when something snaps or wears out. We also get trucks stopping by because we’re so close to the main road and the Kanda. The shop is basically a big shed with a lot of heavy tools and a welding station that sparks all day. It’s not a clean place, but it’s where things get fixed. My brother and I usually handle most of the work ourselves. We learned everything from watching our uncle work in a similar shop years ago. There’s no big sign or flashing lights, just our name painted on the wall. We don't spend money on marketing. People just know us as the place near Mittal Kanda where you can get a bolt replaced or a frame welded back together. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit and wait, but otherwise, we’re here from dawn. It’s a simple life, just fixing things and talking to the locals who drop in for a chat.
