Job Search Placement Office

Sector 67 is where we set up the Job Search Placement Office. It’s a small space, mostly just desks and a couple of old chairs for people waiting. The phone rings a lot. Sometimes it’s someone looking for a new start, and other times it’s a company needing a hand. We spend a lot of time looking at papers and screens. It can get a bit loud when the office is full. There’s a tea stall nearby where we go when things get too hectic. Dealing with people all day is tiring but it keeps things interesting. You never know who is going to walk through the door next. We have stacks of files that seem to grow every week. Sector 67 has changed a lot since we first came here. More buildings, more traffic. We just keep doing what we do. It’s not a glamorous job. There’s a lot of talking and a lot of waiting for calls to be returned. Some days are slow and we just tidy up the desk or organize the folders. Other days we don't even have time for lunch. We don't use any fancy systems, just a lot of lists and notes scribbled on pads. It’s a straightforward way to run things. We’re just here in the office, trying to keep track of everything that's going on in the local area.
