Umamaheshwar Gorati

I am Umamaheshwar Gorati. Currently, you can find me at C126, Rp Hall. This is inside the IIT Kharagpur campus in West Bengal. The pin code is 721302. Being in a place like this means there is always something happening. My room in the hall is where I do most of my thinking and working. It’s not a business office, just a student-style living and working space. I’ve got my books stacked up and my laptop is almost always open. I don't have any big mission or corporate goals. I’m just a guy trying to get through the work I have in front of me. The campus is big and I spend a lot of time walking between buildings. Sometimes I meet people for a quick chat about projects, but mostly I work alone. The internet here is usually good, which is a big help. I don't like using a lot of fancy language to describe what I do. It’s just practical tasks and a lot of learning as I go. Kharagpur is a quiet town outside the campus gates. I like the atmosphere here. It’s conducive to getting things done. I don't have any employees or a big budget. I just use what I have. If I’m not in my room, I’m probably in the library or grabbing a bite at the canteen. I take things day by day and try to learn something new every evening.
