Democratik

Democratik is currently running out of D247 in the RP Hall of Residence over at IIT. It’s a typical hostel room, which means there’s not a lot of space and usually a big pile of textbooks in the corner. It started because we wanted to build something while we were still students here. It gets pretty loud in the corridors sometimes, especially during the exam season or when there’s a cricket match on the TV. We mostly work on our laptops from the small desks the institute gave us. It’s definitely not a corporate office by any stretch. There are posters on the walls and maybe some laundry hanging in the corner most days. We spend our evenings talking about ideas and how to make things work better. The internet can be a bit slow sometimes when everyone is online, but we make do. It’s a bit of a strange place to have a business address, but it’s where we live and where we work for now. Most of our meetings happen over some mess food or while walking to a class. We don’t have fancy business cards or a reception area with a sofa. If someone wants to talk to us, they usually just drop by the hostel or send a message. It’s a bit messy and crowded, but it works for what we are doing. We just focus on our projects and try to balance it all with our daily classes and life in the hall.
