We operate out of unit 73/2 in GIDC, Phase-1. It’s an industrial area, so it’s not exactly the prettiest place to spend your day. There’s always the smell of something chemical in the air and the sound of trucks backing up to the loading bays. Sagar Chemicals started because there was a need for someone local to handle the smaller batches that the big plants didn’t want to bother with. We have a few tanks and some mixing equipment that have seen better days but still work just fine. My boots are usually stained with something or other, and we always have to wear gloves when we’re moving the drums around. It’s hot in the warehouse during the summer, and the tin roof doesn’t help much, but we have a couple of fans that keep the air moving. We don’t have a fancy website or a sales team. Usually, people just call us or stop by the gate if they need a specific supply. We spend a lot of our time checking labels and making sure the lids are on tight. It’s a lot of physical labor, lifting and pouring, and at the end of the day, we’re all pretty tired. But we’ve been in this spot for years and we know all the neighbors in the other units.
