Cafe Coffee Day

We are out here in Panchot village, which is just a little ways from Mehsana town. It’s a pretty quiet spot in North Gujarat compared to the big cities. Most people who come through are either living in the village or they are driving past on the main road and need a break. We’ve got the coffee machines going all day. It’s a simple setup at Suthar No Madh. We don’t have any of those big fancy decorations you see in the malls. It’s just us and the counter and some tables. Sometimes the power goes out in the village and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just how it is out here. We know most of the people who walk in by name, or at least we recognize their faces. It gets a bit dusty because of the roads nearby, so we are always wiping down the tables. We keep the beans stocked and the milk fresh. It isn't a high-pressure job, but we stay busy enough. The locals like to sit for a while and just talk. We don’t mind. It feels more like a community spot than a big chain sometimes. We just try to make a decent cup and keep the place tidy for whoever walks in next. It’s a nice enough place to spend the afternoon if you are passing through this part of the district and need to sit down for a while.
