Meerut’s Delhi Road is always loud, and being near the Railway Road Police Station means there’s constant movement. Our place is at 46 Railway Road. It’s a sturdy building, but it shows its age. Inside, you’ll find speakers of all sizes and tangled cables that we’re always sorting through. The floor is concrete and a bit uneven in places. We spend most of our time testing sound levels, so it’s rarely quiet here. The police station is a good marker for people trying to find us for the first time. We don’t have fancy carpets or glass partitions. It’s a workshop feel, really. There’s a small desk where we keep the logbooks and a few stools for when we need a break. In the summers, the heat on Delhi Road is something else, so we keep the water cooler running all day. We’ve got posters of old events taped to the walls, mostly to cover up some cracks. It’s just a regular Meerut business. We show up early, load the vans, and come back late when the city is finally settling down. There’s nothing corporate about how we run things. It’s just about keeping the music going and making sure the equipment is ready for the next job. Sometimes the neighbor’s cat wanders in, and we just let it stay for a bit while we drink our morning tea and check the equipment lists for the weekend.
