Shivam Traders

Shivam Traders is tucked away in I Block of Ganga Nagar in Meerut. Specifically we are in Bale Patthar on a street called Bali Gali. It is a bit of a tight squeeze for the delivery vans to get in here. I have to go out and guide them sometimes so they don't hit the walls. The shop is more about trading and keeping bulk stock than just a tiny store. We have piles of crates and sacks everywhere. It is a bit disorganized if I am being honest. I know where the tea leaves are and where the soap is even if it looks like a mess to someone else. Working in Meerut means dealing with the power cuts quite often. We just sit in the dark or use a battery light when that happens. It gets very humid here in the monsoon. I have to be careful that the cardboard boxes don't get damp on the floor. My brother helps me with the lifting and the heavy work. We talk to the other traders in the lane about the prices going up. Everything seems more expensive every time we order it. We just try to keep things moving. It is not a glamorous job but it is what we do. The neighbors are good people and we help each other out when someone needs a hand with a delivery. It is a busy life but it is ours.
