Ramneet

The shop we call Ramneet is right in the middle of Kasampur Main Market. We are in the No. 1 section of Kanker Khera in Meerut. You can find us easily because we are right near the big transformer. Sometimes it hums a bit, but we don’t even notice it anymore after all these years. The market is a very loud place with people shouting and bikes honking all the time. Our shop isn't anything special to look at from the outside, but we have what people are looking for. We spend a lot of time just talking to the other shopkeepers and the folks who live nearby. Being in Meerut, especially in Kanker Khera, feels like being in a small village sometimes even though it’s a big city. We get our stock delivered on rickshaws and small trucks that struggle to get through the narrow parts of the market. It’s a lot of lifting and moving boxes around. We don't have a big team or anything, just us doing the work. The lights go out sometimes, which is why being near the transformer is a bit ironic, but we just use torches and keep going. It is just a normal life here in Kasampur. We don't try to be something we aren't. We just open the doors every day and see who comes in to buy something.
