Neer Adarsh Organic Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are out in Kushawali village, which is near Sardhana. Our company is based at Chatar Singh’s place. Living in a small village like this means you get used to the natural rhythm of the year. We started Neer Adarsh because we wanted to focus on how we use our water and how we grow our food. Being an organic farmer producer company is just a way for us neighbors to work together. We don't have a fancy office building or a reception desk. We usually meet under a tree or in one of the farm sheds to talk about our work. We discuss the crops and how to keep the soil healthy without using those expensive chemical bottles. Sardhana is a good place for farming, but it takes a lot of effort to do it right. We have to be very careful with the water, or the "neer," because it is the most important thing we have. Some years the rain is good and we are happy, and other years it is a real struggle to keep things green. We don't have a marketing department to write this for us. It is just us telling you how it is. We work hard, we get tired, and we do it all again the next day. It isn't glamorous and there is a lot of mud. But seeing the seeds sprout makes it worth it.
