N. P. Overseas

Our place is in Patel Bhavan, right at 173 Khandak Bazar. If you know the bazar, you know how crowded it gets. There are people everywhere, and the noise from the market is constant from early morning until late at night. N. P. Overseas is located in this old building that has seen a lot of history. The walls are thick, but you can still hear the vendors outside selling their wares. We have a couple of rooms upstairs where we do all the administrative work. The stairs are narrow and made of wood, and they creak quite a bit. Downstairs is where we keep the inventory. It is a bit of a maze with all the boxes stacked up to the ceiling. We spend our days answering the phone and writing down details for the export orders. It is hot work in the summer because the old building does not have great ventilation. We have these big ceiling fans that hum loudly all day. Sometimes we have to go down into the market to talk to the local transporters. Dealing with the crowd in Khandak Bazar is just part of the job. We have been here for quite some time, so we know most of the other shopkeepers around Patel Bhavan. It is a lot of manual tracking and double-checking lists. We just try to stay on top of the orders and make sure nothing gets lost in the shuffle.
