Ma Mansa Durga Jagran Party

Our base is in Bhudbaral, out in the Partapur area along Delhi Road in Meerut. Being Ma Mansa Durga Jagran Party means we spend a lot of our time traveling, but this is where everything starts. The office is really just a place where we keep our instruments and the big stage setups we use for the Jagrans. It’s out toward the edge of town, so it’s a bit more open than the city center. We spend many afternoons checking our sound systems and making sure the singers have everything they need. It’s not a glamorous job. There’s a lot of dust from the Delhi Road traffic and a lot of sweat when we’re moving the heavy equipment around. We are just a group of people who enjoy the spiritual energy of a long night of music and prayers. Most of the time, our clothes are a bit dusty and we look a little tired from the late nights, but that’s the life of a Jagran party. We don't go in for big marketing or fancy talk. We just show up where we are needed and do our part. The neighbors in Bhudbaral see us coming and going at odd hours, but they’re used to it by now. It’s a simple, honest way to live, keeping the traditions going right here on the outskirts of Meerut. We might not have much polish, but we have plenty of dedication to what we do every single night.
