Mathura is a busy place, and we try to keep our corner of it focused on the agricultural side of things. The company is a way for several of us to pool our resources and knowledge. It’s not a fancy office with air conditioning and assistants; it’s more like a room where we can sit down and figure out our next steps. We talk about soil health a lot, hence the name. The 281004 area is our home. We aren't interested in sounding corporate or using big words that don't mean much to a farmer. We just want to know if the crop is good and if the price is right. It’s a lot of hard work and sometimes we get it wrong, but we’re learning as we go. Most of our members are just local farmers who wanted something better. We help each other with seeds and finding buyers. It’s a very practical arrangement. We don’t have a lot of rules, just a common goal to keep our farms running. If you walk into our place, you’ll likely find us drinking tea and looking over some handwritten notes. That’s just how we operate.
