Himalayan Travel Shop

Our place, Himalayan Travel Shop, is located in Village Aleo on the left bank side of Naggar Road. It’s a beautiful spot near the river, but we are usually too busy inside the shop to spend much time looking at the view. We have a bit of everything here for people who are heading out on treks or just touring around the valley for a few days. There are racks of warm jackets, some sleeping bags, and a lot of different maps scattered around on the counters. We also help people figure out their travel plans, like where to find a reliable jeep driver or which mountain trail is currently too snowy to cross safely. The floor is made of old wood and it creaks quite a bit when you walk on it. We get a lot of travelers who come in looking a bit tired and they just want a place to sit down for a minute and ask for some local advice. We don't have a fancy computer system; we just write most things down in a big notebook and use a basic laptop for the emails. Sometimes we run out of a certain size of hiking boots and have to tell people to check back with us next week. It’s a very casual environment where we wear our own warm clothes and drink tea with anyone who stays long enough to chat. It’s just a small village shop helping people get ready for their time in the mountains.
