Telu Ram Goel & Sons Rice Mills

Telu Ram Goel & Sons Rice Mills is located right in Village Dulladi, on the Malerkotla Road. If you are looking for us, we are basically right opposite A-One Kanda, so it is hard to miss the turn. It’s a family thing here, hence the name with the sons included. My father used to say that the mill never really sleeps during the busy months, and he was right about that. The yard fills up with trailers and the smell of raw grain is everywhere you go. It’s a noisy place once the engines start up in the morning. We spend a lot of time just keeping up with the repairs because these machines are old and they need a lot of looking after. The office is small, just a place to keep the ledgers and have a glass of water when it gets too hot outside. Dulladi is a quiet enough village usually, but when the trucks start rolling in towards Malerkotla Road, everything changes. It’s a lot of physical labor, dragging bags and making sure everything is stacked right. We’ve had the same crew for a long time now. They know the rhythm of the place. Sometimes we sit outside by the gate when things are slow and just watch the traffic go by. It’s not some big corporation, just a mill on the side of the road where we spend most of our lives working. It's a simple life but it's ours.
