Shri Bala Ji Rice Mills

Out here in Village Dulladi, you’ll find us at Shri Bala Ji Rice Mills. We are situated right on the Malerkotla Road, which sees a lot of traffic during the day. Our days are mostly filled with the sounds of the machines and the smell of raw rice. It is a lot of hard work, honestly. We have to move heavy sacks around and keep an eye on the quality of what’s coming in from the local fields. The village is a quiet place, but once the harvest season starts, everything changes and we are busy from dawn until late at night. The yard gets filled with trucks, and sometimes it's hard to even find a place to stand. We don't really have a big corporate setup. It's just a local mill where we do our daily chores. Sometimes the machinery breaks down and we have to spend the whole afternoon getting it back up and running. It can be frustrating, but that’s just how it goes in this line of work. We know most of the farmers who come here by their first names. We’ve been on Malerkotla Road for quite a while now. The building has seen better days, and the paint is peeling in some spots, but it doesn't bother us much. We are more focused on the work inside. It’s a basic operation, and we just take things one day at a time.
